There are two types of Luck: Global Luck and Gathering Luck (Logging, Harvesting, Mining, Skinning and many different perks for fishing)


Global Luck
- increases the potential for low drop-chance items to be earned
- increases the chance that the weapon/armor will be named
- increases the chance that that other items than weapon/armor will be rare
- does NOT effect inventory caches

Best item to have luck on are your bags (for example: Artisans Satchel).
Luck on your weapon/shield is NOT active when looting a chest (since you sheathe them).


Gathering Luck (Logging, Harvesting, Mining, Skinning)
- improves the chance that the player receives additional rare components (for example gems while mining)

I have 600 gear score with luck and pearls on every slot (including shield and sword). In my experience, it works. I probably got 200k+ coin on items sold to the trading post (rare drops, schematics, trophy mats, etc).

the real question is: does the luck on all the gear+trophies+luck food work on expeditions?

The problem with luck is it increase your roll to get better items. And the chance of each roll is evenly divided, which means your chance of getting 🤬ty items isn't reduced. So yeah, it's still mostly based on your karma luck.

Hello,

I have 38.2% luck on my stuff (weapons, armor, jewelry, bags)
I have a major trophy, 1 basic trophy and a minor trophy
Over 32 one-hour sessions of 28 chests, i.e. 32 hours and 896 chests (the good chests), I got zero trophies

Am I too lucky? How much should I have? Feeling of injustice compared to those who drop 2-3 trophies per turn.
I despair of one day getting the job trophies I need to be able to craft items at 595-600

Don't bother with Luck perk after patch 1.1, it is bugged. Lesser drops compared to pre-patch. Seems it is giving negative values instead of actual Luck, or I don't know, maybe my RNG is just so bad I've been farming for legendary mats and all I get are green rarity gears which has very low GS compared to my WM (590+ on most) and some craft mods. I'm running on 2.6% Luck on 11 slots + 3 minor luck trophies.

does this perk on weapon/shield works when being stowed? I noticed the bonus stat from shield only count when we draw the shield, even if your active weapon is sword it(the shield) won't count stat when being stowed.

@ElizabethGold-Barri i had a ring i think with 2 rolls on it, does that mean other pieces can have multi rolls too?

@Kane, how do you get to 25?

5: Chest, Helm, Gloves, Pants, Shoes (+ 5 Gems) = 14.0% perfect
3: Amulet, Earring, Ring (+3 Gems) = 8.4% perfect
2: Weapon 1, Weapon 2 (+2 Gems) = 5.6% perfect
10: Gems = 5% (https://nwdb.info/db/perk/perkid_gem_luck4)
3: Bags = 8.4% perfect
1: Shield = 2.8% perfect (not sure about this)

Total: 24 = 44.2% perfect
Don't know what I'm missing, maybe a consumable buff (potion/food)?

Also:
3: Trophies = 4.5% (not sure if this is a separate stack)

It says it can stack 25 times, but there are only 12 pieces of gear that could potentially have it? how does it work?

Can i put luck on all my gear and it all stacks so i get like +20 something % luck
